NAARTJIE KIDS COMING TO FAIR OAKS MALL;
OTHER NEW STORES OFFER FOOD & FUN
Released: 05/29/09
Fairfax, Virginia, May 22, 2009 —Naartjie Kids, the fast-growing brand of vibrant, kid-friendly and fashionable clothing designed in South Africa, will open a store at Fair Oaks Mall in July of this year.
“Naartjie” (pronounced “nar chee”) is an Afrikaans word for a small, sweet citrus fruit found in Africa. Like its namesake, the Naartjie Kids brand has a flavor and style all its own. Launched in Cape Town, South Africa in 1989, the company’s distinctive, colorful, naturally soft and functional fashions have since captured attention around the globe. Now with three dozen stores on two continents, its fashions are perpetually fresh, bold, colorful, playful and fun–like the children who inspire them. The predominantly natural fabrics are pre-shrunk and garment-dyed for easy wear. And all fashions, in sizes 0 to 10 plus accessories, are surprisingly affordable.
“Naartjie Kids is a fresh and exciting addition to the shops at Fair Oaks Mall,” said Marketing & Sponsorship Director Ferris Kaplan. “We look forward to welcoming them to this area.”
In addition, several recent openings offer shoppers more choices for food and fun: “Outside-the-bun” favorite Taco Bell has a new location at Fair Oaks Mall, as does the world’s leading cinnamon-roll shop, Cinnabon. In mid summer, The Chicken Place brings its popular Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken and yucca fries to Fair Oaks.
And for those who make a serious hobby of gaming, the recently-opened Games Workshop specializes in collecting, building and gaming with fantasy and science-fiction miniatures.
One of the region’s largest shopping destinations, Fair Oaks Mall is located at the intersection of I-66 and Route 50 and features more than 190 specialty stores, services and restaurants as well as Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Sears and JCPenney, Apple, and The Cheesecake Factory. Center hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.shopfairoaksmall.com.
