FAIR OAKS MALL DEBUTS FIRST ME-ALITY IN WASHINGTON D.C. METRO AREA

FAIRFAX, VA (May 1, 2012) – Fair Oaks Mall will debut the first Me-Ality Size Matching Station in the Washington D.C. metro area on Wednesday, April 19.

The Me-Ality is a free service that takes less than 10 minutes (from scan to shopping guide) to help shoppers identify the fit, style, design and cut that best match their body.
Me-Ality Size Matching Station is located on the lower level of Fair Oaks Mall, off the Fountain Court, and is open during all mall hours.
With no sizing standard for clothing manufacturers, Me-Ality is designed to take the guesswork out of sizing when clothes shopping. After registering some basic demographic information, customers will first step fully clothed into the Me-Ality body imaging system and in about 10 seconds, 200,000 data points will capture precise measurements.
The body imaging system utilizes a "vertical wand" in the Me-Ality station that contains 196 small antennas to send and receive low power radio signals. The radio signals are similar to, but 1,000 times weaker than those a typical cell phone emits. In the 10 to 15 seconds it takes for the wand to rotate around a fully clothed individual, the signals reflect off the water in the skin. When the wand's rotation is complete, Me-Ality has recorded more than 200,000 points of reference from which precise measurements are extracted.
After being scanned, shoppers will view their shopping guide at one of the touch-screen monitors at the Size Matching Station. The Me-Ality shopping guide lists styles that best fit the shopper’s exact body shape. The customized Me-Ality shopping guide can filter the list by brand, style, price or retailer, making it easier to find the best fitting and best looking styles.
