One of the region's largest events of its kind will celebrate the Year of the Rooster

FAIRFAX, VA (Jan. 3, 2017) – Fair Oaks Mall will host its 14th annual Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, Jan. 28 and Sunday, Jan. 29 to usher in the Year of the Rooster. Presented by the Washington Hai Hua Community Center, the unique event will feature free, family-friendly performances, ceremonies and exhibitions each day in Grand Court from 1-5 p.m.


The celebration will showcase traditional Chinese dragon dances, music, Chinese knotting, calligraphy, painting, martial arts, arts and crafts for children and a special lantern festival.


WHAT:           More than 200 performers representing numerous countries and regions, including China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Polynesia, Tibet, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam will participate


WHEN:           Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29 from 1-5 p.m.
